About Us

My Teaching Approach

My teaching approach is centered on making history meaningful, factual, and accessible to all students. I believe students learn best when they can connect historical events to real people, real evidence, and real-world issues. While I use the textbook as a foundation, I go beyond it by incorporating primary sources, historical artifacts, maps, political cartoons, and current events into my lessons.

For example, during a unit on early American history, I incorporated primary source analysis activities where students examined historical documents and discussed their significance in small groups. I have also used visual materials such as maps and historical images to help students better understand complex events and timelines. By combining multiple instructional strategies, I aim to make history engaging and relevant while helping students develop critical thinking skills.

Our Story

During my student teaching experience, I developed a wide range of skills that are essential for effective teaching. I strengthened my ability to plan lessons with clear objectives, manage classroom behavior, differentiate instruction, and assess student learning. I also learned how to adjust my teaching based on student needs and respond to challenges in real time.

One of the most important areas of growth for me was learning how to break down complex historical concepts into smaller, more understandable parts. I also improved my ability to engage students through questioning, discussion, and interactive activities. Overall, this experience helped me become more confident, organized, and reflective as an educator.
